Why ClO₂

Chlorine dioxide is the chemistry PureLine was built on. It is a selective oxidizer that disrupts microbial cell structures, oxidizes hydrogen sulfide and iron sulfides, and penetrates biofilm where chlorine-based chemistries fall short. It works across a wide pH range, performs in the presence of high organic load, and leaves a low, manageable residual.

That combination makes ClO₂ uniquely suited to oilfield water. Produced water is dirty, variable, and microbially active. ClO₂ handles it.

What ClO₂ Solves

Sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB) and acid-producing bacteria (APB)

Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) generation in tanks, pipelines, and disposal wells

Iron sulfide (FeS) deposits in wellbores and flowlines

Biofilm in pipelines, tanks, and producing wells

Microbial loads in fresh, brackish, flowback, and produced water

How We Generate It

PureLine Energy Solutions uses patented, three-precursor on-site ClO₂ generation. That matters for two reasons. First, ClO₂ is generated at the point of use, eliminating the safety and logistics challenges of transporting concentrated solutions. Second, three-precursor chemistry produces high-purity ClO₂ with consistent yield, even at the high flow rates required for frac-on-the-fly applications.

Our generators are deployed in mobile trailers engineered to operate reliably in sub-zero temperatures and harsh oilfield terrain, and in permanent installations that run unmanned with remote monitoring and control.

Where We Run ClO₂

Frac-on-the-fly water treatment at rates up to and exceeding 100 barrels per minute

Produced water treatment for recycle and disposal

Pit turns and above-ground tank treatments

Producing well and flowline treatment

H₂S control across the treatment train

Enhanced acidization well stimulations

Field-Proven Performance

Across our oilfield ClO₂ operations we have documented:

  • Up to 98% iron removal and up to 94% suspended-solids reduction in produced water
  • Bacterial control to undetectable levels in treated frac water
  • 99.97% uptime on redundant mobile treatment systems
  • 24/7 live monitoring of dose, residual, pH, and flow
